Aid for Earthquake Survivors

25 October 2005

Dear Mr. YUEN,

Aid for Earthquake Survivors

The recent magnitude 7.6 earthquake in the south Asian subcontinent has paralysed many areas in Pakistan, India, Kashmir and Afghanistan, killing more than 30,000 people and affecting a population of 2.5 million. The Institute has written condolence letters to the Presidents of the Institute of Cost and Works Accountants of India, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India, the Institute of Cost & Management Accountants of Pakistan and the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan, offering our help should they need it.

The Institute would like to appeal to your compassionate support by making a donation of any amount to the following bank account for this humanitarian cause:

Hong Kong & Shanghai Bank Account No. 004-502-443534-001

The trustees of the Institute's Charitable Fund have decided that the Fund will match, dollar for dollar, all donations from members with a cap of $100,000. All donations received will go to The International Red Cross and you can make your donation either in person direct at HSBC outlets, credit card, or by crossed cheque made payable to the "Hong Kong Institute of CPAs Charitable Fund" (please specify the South Asian Earthquake) and return the attached donation pledge form to us for our record and issuance of receipts to the Communications Department on or before 15 November 2005.

Official receipts will be issued to those contributing $100 or more for tax reduction purposes.

We look forward to your support for this cause.

With very best wishes,

Edward K.F. Chow
President
